DESCRIPTION: APW - Ball Hamilton, Official O of RC Standard (Order of Railway Conductors), Grade 999E, 17J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, "Single Roller" and "Sapphire Pallets" marked mvt, bull's-eye pattern nickel damascene with rosette at center, s#90440. This double-sunk version of the "ORC Standard" marked dial is extremely rare and this example is paired with its correct, and equally rare, "Single Roller" marked variant of the "O of RC Standard" movement. A terrific piece for the Ball collector, and a watch that will always stand out among the usual single-sunk Ball dials in the rest of the collection.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches with majority being to barrel bridge and balance cock; dial with small patched edge chip near 1, very faint outer chapter hl between 12 and 1, some small fine scratches within seconds-register; excellent hands, hour and minute are plum colored, seconds-hand is blue; case shows hardly any wear, mild ding to band at 7, few small nicks elsewhere to band, no dents, excellent engine turning detail; tight bow, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.
